2021 Maintenance Engineering Society Conference

News

After a brief COVID hiatus, The Maintenance Engineering Society of New Zealand is proud to release the programme for the MESNZ 2021 conference, which will be held at Fraser High School in Hamilton, 12-14th October 2021. There will be a full conference programme, including a greats election of Pre-conference training and professional development workshops. MESNZ also welcomes aboard the ABD Group as the new Principal Sponsor for MESNZ 2021.

This year we are also introducing a new session to the programme, with a special dedicated student session on the first day of the conference (Tuesday 12th October) that will shine a positive light on potential future careers in engineering, including full access to the main exhibit hall to see firsthand the incredible tools and technology used by a modern engineer. Covid has reinforced the importance of “Growing the next generation of engineers” and at MESNZ we want to play our part in helping this come to fruition.

Sticking with this vision, MESNZ strives to promote industry best practices in all that we do. To this end we have introduced four new MESNZ Excellence Awards, to be presented at this year’s Conference Dinner. The new MESNZ Excellence Awards will be as follows:

  1. Best Safety Improvement Project,
  2. Best Reliability Improvement Project,
  3. Best Energy and Carbon Reduction Project, and
  4. Best Apprentice Training Organisation.

Applications will close 5pm, Friday 24th September 2021, with all entries to be submitted electronically via e-mail to info@mesnz.org.nz. Full details can be found in the Conference registration pack and any questions can be directed to info@mesnz.org.nz (Click on the Registration link and you will receive an email with full registration pack and conference programme).

The Conference Social Night and Awards Dinner will be hosted at Ski City Hamilton, included some great networking opportunities mingled with some good old fashioned bowling – with the odd MESNZ twist included!

We have secured ample accommodation for conference attendees, with rooms available at the Ventura Inn and Suites and Novotel Tainui. Rooms at the special conference rates will be held to 10th September, so get in quick to avoid disappointment. Full details are available in the conference registration pack.

It has been a big year, with changes a plenty in all aspects of our lives. As we adjust to a post-COVID-19 “new normal” let MESNZ help you to strengthen your Maintenance and Engineering teams through the quality learning, collaboration, networking, and upskilling opportunities provided by Engineers, for Engineers. At only $375 + GST per attendee, you will not find any better value for your training dollar! MESNZ Members qualify for a discounted registration of only $325 + GST.
