Corporate Announcement: More than just pneumatics

News

Sydney, February 2019

SMC is well known in the industry as the leading global brand in pneumatics. Over their more than 50 years in Australia, the company has increased their market share and foothold in various industries - from food and beverage, to packaging and mining to name a few.

The SMC brand has evolved over the years to deliver an all-encompassing product portfolio and extensive service suite. As a customer centric company, SMC has focused on developing products which suit the needs of customers - even to the point where special products are engineered and become part of the standard product portfolio. To date, SMC has over 12 000 products in 700 000 variations.

To align with a global movement started by the parent company in Japan and to ensure consistency, SMC Pneumatics has now effectively changed its name to SMC Corporation (Australia) Pty Ltd in Australia and SMC Corporation (NZ) Ltd in New Zealand respectively.

It follows the movement from SMC globally to be more than a component supplier but to provide customers with complete solutions and in range of products not only limited to pneumatics. SMC’s products include valves, actuators, ai line products and piping, instrumentation, process vales, vacuum, electric actuators and other derived products such as temperature control equipment.

Offering customers complete solutions and product specifically developed to their application ensures SMC Corporation remains a firm favourite in the business of automation across a range of industries.

Please note that this change has no commercial impact on the company or its standing agreements. SMC remains committed to local manufacturing and offering customers unmatched commercial support.
