Drylin® delta robot improved by Igus

General Engineering

Invented way back in the early 80’s, the Delta robot is very common place in the automation industry today. igus® is helping reshape how robots are integrated and maintained within industry, driving costs down and improving efficiency and simplicity.

Adding to their robotic offering, igus® has developed a new, modular delta robot kit for automated pick-and-place applications. The solution is maintenance-free, self-lubricating, lightweight and allows users to engineer at a very low cost.

The robot is based on three drylin® ZLW toothed-belt linear actuators, igubal® spherical bearings and other lightweight igus® components.

NEMA stepper motors and encoders allow for quick handling of within 0.5 millimetre accuracy, and the system can carry as much as five kilograms.

Applications range from belt transfer stations and sorting systems, to small parts handling and fast positioning requirements.

Order the delta robot complete assembled and tested by the experts at ®igus, or as a build your own DIY kit, with or without motors.
