Efficient control design

Automation

EPLAN Experience is a methodological, step-by-step concept to increase engineering efficiency and design optimisation, says Ecodesign & Automation Ltd. The design tool enables mechatronic configuration and automated documentation for sales, engineering and production, streamlining the design process and permanently reducing design costs, states the company.

Ecodesign & Automation is the official distributor of EPLAN and says their design and software solution is benefiting some of New Zealand’s leading OEM’s and manufacturers, making them more efficient and competitive. Over 300 projects have been completed including baggage & cargo handling systems, large dairy processing plants, whiteware manufacturing line, waste water plants , fruit sorting system, coal fire burner, power distribution boards, and machine safety upgrades.

Ecodesign says EPLAN is the perfect solution for large projects with repeatable circuits and devices, which is quite often the case on larger projects. Auto-generation can be extended to include documentation/reports; i.e. bill of materials, cable schedules [Pulling and termination], PLC IO schedule and a host of other reports. The end result is; faster to market, reduced labour cost, fewer errors and increased profits.
