EQM extends STM gearbox range

Product Watch

EQM has extended its range of STM gearboxes, following Anthony Bloxham’s visit to the world’s largest equipment trade show in Hanover, Germany.
STM has one of the most extensive ranges of gearboxes and geared motors on the market and EQM is the exclusive importer.
Bloxham says STM is at the forefront of technical solutions in both light and heavy mechanical engineering.
The latest addition to EQM’s product range is the Planetary EX series and the decision has already paid dividends with an order from a wood processing plant that was experiencing ongoing gearbox failures. The EX series are compact, and yet extremely powerful.

Their planetary drive train makes them the ideal choice for all the severe duty applications where shock loadings and impacts are more the rule than the exception.
The product configuration is highly versatile, due to several mounting options, the gear layout, the output shaft and the electric or hydraulic motor interface.
Other STM products stocked by EQM include the STM RMI series, worm gearboxes that have been about for more than 20 years, but remains popular especially within the food processing sector. RMI gearboxes are used on conveyor systems and packaging equipment among many other applications.
The Z and ZL STM series offers one of the widest range of bevel right angle gearboxes.
The more complicated a conveyor system or production line the more the Z and ZL range comes into its own as it helps transfer power in a range of directions and can be set up in a row along a production line.

STM M series gearboxes are one of those special gearboxes that in most cases you probably don’t think you’ll need. The M series is a ‘pre-stage’ gearbox. It works most effectively when mounted between an electric motor and existing gearbox, especially when a conveyor needs to run slow.
If you have a slow moving conveyor system in a small space then the STM SM series gearbox might be just what you’re looking for.
The SM series delivers more power with less horsepower, making it efficient and ideal for any factory, bottling plant or food processor striving for high levels of mechanical and electrical efficiency.

STM’s UMI range of gearboxes has been developed to cut down on maintenance and minimize production downtime.
The real benefit, and where UMI stands apart, is the use of a non-corrosive input-coupling bush. This system, which connects the electric motor to the gearbox, prevents fretting of the keyway, vibration between motor and gearbox, also corrosion caused by environmental conditions such as moisture.
When it comes to selecting the right gearbox, it’s important to eliminate the guesswork by talking to the experts.
