Forget about the Dust ...just talk to NZDUCT+FLEX

General Engineering

A large manufacturer of bathroom equipment in West Auckland used to have to replace the filter cartridges in his 5 separate filter units every 12 -18 months,  at a cost of$ 6000 - $12000 a year.

The units were getting old and starting to rust, so the company looked for replacements. At the top of their list of requirements was excellent filtration of the dust being emitted, to comply with a more stringent resource consent, plus, a  reduction in this very high cost of new cartridges every year.

NZDUCT+FLEX installed a new JKF DustStorm unit in January 2011 to replace two of the five original units. The automatic cleaning cycle of the DustStorm unit waits until it’s sensors detect the unit needs to clean, instead of blasting away at the filter cartridges every 30 seconds or so. It not only initiates the cleaning, but it also senses the airflow coming through the filters. The pressure of the compresed air pulse is then adjusted to between 1.5 and 5 bar accordingly.

Huge savings in compressed air usage are a result of this feature, and,  most importantly, wear and tear on the filter cartridges is less.  The end effect is that in this particular installation, the DustStorm filter is still running on the same cartridges supplied when it was installed eight years ago.

If you multiply the change of filter cartridges every 12 – 18 months at $6000- 12,000 a year, the savings, just in cartridge replacements alone, means that the DustStorm unit has paid for itself in the eight years it’s been in use, PLUS, the value of all the compressed air saved.

The customer was so impressed,  four years later, on moving to a new site, he took the DustStorm with him, still with the original cartridges inside and added a second JKF Jet Filter from NZDUCT+FLEX to sit alongside, replacing all the original five American filters on site,  and increasing the total capacity by a large margin.

So, let NZDUCT+FLEX deal with your dust issues.  All you have to do is turn the on  ‘ON’ switch in the morning,  and switch off the ‘OFF’ switch at night. And forget about the dust!
