Devices for applications in areas with explosive atmospheres are subject to special requirements. They must be specially designed and certified for such areas. These measures ensure that devices do not pose a danger of igniting potentially explosive atmospheres.

Automation Equipment offers a safe solution that fulfils these requirements with the Schmalz JumboSprint EX series. The JumboSprint EX series has been reworked and has a maximum capacity in zones 2/22 of 250 kg.

The JumboSprint EX is perfect for applications where the lifting of bags, barrels, cardboard boxes, buckets and paint containers is required. An ideal solution for positioning of filled bags, e.g. for emptying into hoppers or mixers. The JumboSprint EX is certified according to ATEX 2014/34/EU and suitable for use in explosion protection zones 1/21 and 2/22.

The operator handle and vacuum grippers are made from stainless steel making all parts conductive and connected with a potential equalization. The lifting tube is made from a special conductive material and the vacuum generation can either be compressed air driven (up to 85kg) or electric (blowers up to 250 kg). With a number of vacuum grippers in explosion protection design which can easily be changed with a quick adaptor (optional), it makes the JumboSprint EX a very versatile option for EX environments.

The entire system is completed with a steel jib crane matched with the lifter for explosion protection zones.
