HMPS Receives Prestigious Nod of Approval

Food & Beverage

This year has seen several exciting award wins for HMPS and last week was no different.

The wholly owned, proudly South Australian-based machine builders scooped up the Stephen Moore Service Provider Award on Friday, 24 November 2017 at the largest food and beverage industry gathering in Australia.

According to the prestigious show organisers, the show sees an audience of approximately 700 guests and the winners typify the diverse food and beverage products manufactured in Australia - ranging from on-trend functional foods to traditional family favourites.

Priding itself on design, development and manufacturing of high quality machinery for packaging processes, HMPS has positioned itself as the go-to for the food, beverage and packaging industries. By automating for the industry, HMPS helps the South Australian food business to grow and realise true benefits!

The recipe for the company’s success? Remaining true to its values as a relatively small and close-knit team, HMPS’s owner and Executive Chairman, Mark Emmett and CEO, Shaun Westscott are both directly involved in the business, working side-by-side with the team of close on 60 engineering-minded employees.

Owner, Mark Emmett explains that teamwork is important. “We come up with creative solutions and solve problems by having conversations, getting practical and trying out ideas - it is sort of like kids playing with Meccano sets until they find the most perfect solution to the automation challenge”.

He continues: “Each person takes pride in their work because they are creating and crafting - from only an idea, it is nurtured into drawings, animations, steel frames, conveyor systems, pneumatic circuits, control panels, etc.; until finally you have a product that moves at lighting speed and is packing products in all sizes and formations into cartons!”

Each project is literally birthed in the factory and it requires many people to make this a reality, hence the close team dynamic. This offers huge success internally and also to HMPS’s customers who buy into this passion for perfection.

“It is a great honour to receive the Stephen Moore Service Provider Award and be associated with this prestigious event, and it’s an even greater honour to serve the South Australian food industry every day. What a great way to end of what has been a remarkable year” concludes Mark.
