Inlet control device prolongs pump life

General

APEX Valves has designed a high volume water inlet control device offering an infinitely variable minimum and maximum water level within a water tank. Forget complicated electronics and there’s no need for any electricity – the new Pump Buddy replaces the conventional float switch system and allows you to activate your pressure pump via an inlet control valve. This results in fewer pump cycles, helping to prolong the life of the pump. Fewer pump cycles also results in electricity savings. The Pump Buddy is simple to set up – you simply adjust the distance between the two weights to create your desired differential between the minimum and maximum water level. As the diagram shows the valve is closed when both weights are submerged (maximum water level), and remains closed until the bottom weight is exposed (minimum level). The Pump Buddy then opens and remains open until the maximum water level is reached. The valve is available with both standard and long-tail inlets. The latter model includes a seal washer and back nut, ideal for connections to thin walled tanks where no integral inlet thread is available. Inlet pressures range from 55kPa to 1000kPa.
