The Mechanical Support Systems acquisition strengthens Legrand Group’s global portfolio of brands and cable management solutions.

Legrand has announced its acquisition of Mechanical Support Systems (MSS), a New-Zealand based company that offers cable management solutions for the electrical and mechanical sectors. MSS’ services include cable containment manufacturing, supply, installation and design, as well as bespoke fabrication.

The acquisition merges MSS’ comprehensive cable management solutions with Legrand’s existing power, emergency lighting, structured cabling and wiring products, enabling them to offer comprehensive solutions across the commercial, infrastructure and data centre verticals.

“The Legrand Group’s core purpose is to offer solutions that are simple, innovative and sustainable. While we are a global company, we are very local in our approach and committed to investing in our ANZ operations to offer tailored solutions for this market. Our expanded offering in cable management will enable us to offer more comprehensive solutions to growth sectors such as data centres,” said Palash Nandy, CEO at Legrand ANZ.

“MSS’ current position in New Zealand stems from our strong people culture. This has attributed to the innovative, solution driven outcomes the business takes to market at present. Joining forces with a global leader like Legrand will allow MSS to engage even quicker and support a much wider range of offerings for our combined customer base,” said Hayden Froggatt, Co-Founder of MSS.

“With MSS being a company that is focussed on people, culture and solutions, merging with a global leader like the Legrand Group allows us to provide a wider portfolio of products for our customers in New Zealand. MSS is a strong player in the cable management market in New Zealand, with its design, installation and bespoke fabrication expertise being a complementary addition to Legrand’s existing offering. Legrand’s global R&D capabilities also ensure that we continue to innovate in this space to deliver the best possible solutions for our customers. We are excited for the future and welcome MSS into the Legrand family,” said Jeff Butler, Country Manager NZ at Legrand.
