New infrared photocells from ifm electronic

Excellent sensing characteristics combined with quality and value have made the O6 range of photoelectric sensors one of the most successful products of recent years from ifm electronic Ltd.  The compact O6 range with common 1” mounting centres has been a hit already, and now the company has expanded the range with the introduction of infrared versions.   
While red light is often more popular, because the user can see where the sensor is aimed, there are instances where infrared still has a place. Bright lights can distract or irritate and red is a danger signal, so not permitted in certain areas.  The higher excess gain offered by infrared wavelengths gives the sensor potentially even better performance in difficult applications, or simply more range.
ifm electronic has released two infrared O6 versions so far, one diffuse sensor with a 600mm range, and a through-beam pair with a staggering 15m range. These all come with a reinforced M8 connector, and are supplied as PNP or NPN versions.   These are available now direct from the manufacturer at very competitive prices.
