Enhancing its local assembly capabilities, SMC Corporation Australia New Zealand (ANZ) recently welcomed the newly launched LECSN-T series of AC servo motor drivers (network card type) to its ranks.

According to Jozef Ceh, SMC’s Digital Transformation and Global Accounts Manager, the introduction of this series adds another level of smart flexibility, further enhancing the company’s local offering of its AC cylinder range. “This is testament to SMC’s commitment to the local market, while showcasing our ability to support a broader range of specifications.  We can now assemble this range to a more specific customer requirement with a faster turnaround time for a peace-of-mind.”

Earlier this year, SMC announced that it had invested in a large local stockholding of its electric cylinder range and that these would be assembled on-site and to exact customer specifications. “This takes place at our central warehouse in New South Wales,” comments Jozef.

Jozef adds that this investment has been welcomed by its customers. “We now offer the full AC cylinder range; this includes cylinders, motors, drivers, cables, other accessories and now our servo motor drivers.”

About the LECSN-T Series

Speaking to some of the features of this series, Jozef explains that it supports three types of network cards, namely PROFINET, EtherCAT, and EtherNet/IP. “All drivers are fitted – as standard – with an STO (Safe Torque Off) safety function, adhering to the highest level of ISO safety certification.  It is equipped with a 22-bit encoder which can be utilised as an incremental or absolute coordinate system and can accommodate motors ranging from 100 – 750 W.”

Of course, programming and support for this range comes standard. “Our team is always on hand to assist with on-site and virtual assistance as well as technical queries. Having this large stock contingent on hand is ideal for shortening lead times and offers further assurance in terms of spare parts and accessories.”
