Standards raised on foreign objects in food

Product Watch

The WQA quality assurance standard is in place for any suppliers to the Countdown supermarkets and includes new standards for foreign object detection, including metal and plastic.
Aurora Quality Assurance’s range of Cassel metal detectors help its clients meet WQA and HACCP standards. They are manufactured using the X-Detect plastic compound and means they are not only metal detectable, but X-ray detectable too. Even small components can be detected and rejected.
The products are impact and shatter proof, and approved for use in food production. Use of these products is recommended in the WQA standard.
By complying with the new standards, and meeting audit requirements, growers will ensure they are opening new supply opportunities.
