Why keep suffering from ongoing bearing failures?

General

One of the major contributing factors of achieving bearing reliability is proper lubrication.

The purpose of lubricating a bearing is to cover the rolling and sliding contact surfaces with a thin oil film to avoid direct metal-to-metal contact. When done effectively, the lubricant reduces friction and abrasion, transports heat generated by friction, prolongs service life, prevents rust and corrosion, and keeps foreign objects and contamination away from rolling elements.

The three primary principles of maximising bearing life are: selecting the correct lubricant, applying the lubricant properly, and maintaining the lubricant in a clean condition. Neglect or failure in any of these three areas will seriously increase the risk of premature bearing failure resulting in costly bearing replacement and lost production.

LE’s lubricants, which are formulated from highly refined base oils and proprietary additives, have vastly outperformed conventional lubricants in a wide variety of applications with proven results in significantly reducing and eliminating bearing failures within New Zealand & Worldwide Industries.

LE New Zealand successes:

NZ cereal manufacturing company – oven conveyer bearings lasting seven years using Quinplex Foodgrade LE4025.

NZ Fish processing company – Trio Fish Skinner Bearings, Monolec LE4701 increased lifespan of seals and bearings from less than one year to 13 years.

NZ Water Heater manufacturing company – furnace chains and extractor fan bearings – Almasol LE1250 High Temperature lubricant dramatically reduced furnace roller failures and eliminated extractor fan bearing failures.

NZ Food products manufacturing company – dough divider bearings lasting 15 years – Quinplex Foodgrade LE 4025.

New Zealand Pasta manufacturing company – “When we get new sealed bearings, we clean them out and repack them with Quinplex Foodgrade LE4025, to make sure they last.”
