Mimico’s newest branch has opened in Auckland. This follows recent moves to develop a full-service nationwide network with the establishment of similar operations in Christchurch and Palmerston North. The new 6,000 square metre site is located at 88 Takanini School Road, Takanini and will also accommodate Mimico’s associate company, Crane Sales New Zealand Limited.
The Auckland branch is in the process of developing an all-purpose service facility that will include a workshop, a parts supply area and sales offices. A major motive behind establishing an Auckland branch has come as a result of the company acquiring the sole New Zealand distributorship for the Kobelco range of excavators. Other product to be sold and serviced from the new branch includes Metso crushers and screens, Atlas Copco rock breakers and ZF transmission components. “Having a branch in the all important Auckland market will help us to cut the time it takes to supply common parts,” says Mimico Managing Director, Rex Davies. “The consolidation of resources in this area will also allow us to provide a fast and efficient response to our customers.”
Repairs and maintenance will not just be limited to the workshop. Mimico’s Auckland branch will operate fully equipped mobile vehicles, which includes diagnostic equipment, enabling them to rapidly respond to breakdowns in the field. The service team is factory trained and is capable of handling any unplanned breakdowns anywhere north of the Bombay Hills.
Crane Sales market and distribute a wide range of cranes and accessories that encompass a variety of heavy industry applications. Brands include the Effer knuckle boom truck and marine cranes, TAM Hooklifts, Maxilift truck and ute mounted cranes and Unic truck loader cranes and mini crawler cranes. Traccess access platforms are a recent addition to the line-up.
