Covid put paid to earlier celebrations, so it was one hundred and one years of business in Aotearoa/New Zealand that was celebrated by steel and flow control product supplier, Asmuss, at Auckland’s Park Hyatt hotel last week. The privately-owned business – with current shareholders fourth generation family members – has supplied products to New Zealand’s biggest industrial and construction projects for the past 10 decades (and one year).
Despite this impressive run, the company has kept a relatively low profile since it was founded in 1920 by H J Asmuss and believes it has stayed loyal to what it means to be a New Zealand owned and operated company.
To celebrate the milestone the company has launched the Asmuss Charitable Trust, which will provide financial support to local communities where the Asmuss Group has a physical presence. Supporting areas such as financial literacy, budgeting services, cultural, leadership, youth development focused on employment pathways and young family support.
