Ballance Agri-Nutrients Expression of Interest (EOI) – Advanced Notification

Sustainability

Project Name: BA-CT23-35 Te Ata Phase 1 Alliance Partner

Ballance Agri-Nutrients (Ballance) is pleased to announce they have to released an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the open market for the above opportunity.

Ballance is a New Zealand farmer and grower owned co-operative and is seeking a professional engineering services contractor to support the first phase of a major decarbonisation program at its Kapuni ammonia-urea facility in South Taranaki.

The proposed decarbonisation program aims to abate ~190,000 tonnes per annum of manufacturing emissions and is planned to proceed in two phases. The work is technically complex and of significant scale, involving electrification of the plant’s ammonia synthesis process.

The Expression of Interest will seek feedback from parties to work alongside Ballance and its technology providers to deliver the front-end engineering design (FEED) for phase 1. To ensure success, the Company will place a strong focus on ensuring that it has in place, the ‘right people’, the ‘right processes’, and ‘right systems’.

Beyond FEED, the Company intends to work with the successful FEED contractor to establish a partnership-based alliance approach for procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of the facility.

The program is subject to formal reviews and approvals at certain ‘decision gates’. Subject to such approvals, FEED is expected to commence in Q2 2024 to enable completion and commissioning of phase one in early 2028.

If you think your organisation has the depth of expertise, capability, and capacity to work alongside Ballance on a unique program, we strongly encourage you to respond to this upcoming opportunity.

The EOI will be released on Ballance’s Tenderlink site (click here) which is free for anyone to register. If you are not registered already, simply select the ‘Registration’ tab below, to register for upcoming opportunities.
