A leading New Zealand Environmental lawyer – Sue Simons, partner of specialist Environmental law firm Berry Simons – has been appointed as a Member of the Chartered Professional Engineers Council.
The important statutory body oversees IPENZ’s rules for ethical conduct and disciplinary issues. The Council also deals with appeals relating to ethical and disciplinary issues under the Chartered Professional Engineers Act 2002.
Simons is at the forefront of Environmental Law and has been instrumental in obtaining consents for large scale urban planning projects. “It’s an honour to be appointed.” Says Simon. ”After several years on the Plumbers, Gasfitters and Drainlayers Board, I’m looking forward to this new set of challenges.”
