Detonation/deflagration flame arrestor with non-return valve

Equipment

Witts F53Ndeto with ¼" connections offers reliable protection against deflagrations and stable detonations of flammable gases and gas mixtures, for example for systems in the oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical industries, or for protecting sensors and laboratory equipment.

Brand new: a temperature-sensitive element extinguishes sustained flashbacks.

The extremely compact design in accordance with DIN EN ISO 16852 and installation in any orientation make installation particularly easy. The fitting has an EU type-approval from the German Federal Physical-Technical Institute PTB, in accordance with Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX).

For almost all flammable gases and gas mixtures (certified for Group, IIA, IIB, IIC from EN/IEC 60079-20-1), except in combination with oxygen, the F53Ndeto reliably stops any flashbacks by means of a flame arrester made of sintered chrome-nickel steel.

But the Witt innovation offers even more. For even more comprehensive protection, this new device has an additional safety mechanism: thanks to the temperature-sensitive element, even sustained flashbacks are safely extinguished long before the internal temperature of the arrestors reaches a dangerous level. If a critical temperature is exceeded, a plastic body melts, closing the valve and stopping the gas supply. This ensures the highest level of safety for the user.

As a deflagration flame arrester, the F53Ndeto is ideal for protecting systems and system components with a maximum volume of 4.6 litres and a maximum absolute pressure of 1.1 bar, for example in the chemical industry. It is used as a detonation flame arrester with a maximum absolute pressure of 1.5 bar in small pipelines and to protect gas analysers, for example.

The high-quality fitting is made of stainless steel (1.4404), the seals are made of FKM or FFKM. Witt offers the F53Ndeto with G1/4 female thread connections as standard. The maximum permitted temperature is 60 °C.
