New filter – high flow, low pressure drop, perfect for oxygen

Equipment

With the new LE5 gas filter, WITT is expanding its portfolio of filters with another high-performance model for inline installation. The 2" filter is designed for oxygen in accordance with EIGA, AIGA and CGA and reliably removes mechanical impurities and condensate from pipelines. Downstream equipment is protected, process performance is increased and maintenance costs are minimised.

Maximum performance with minimal pressure loss

With a filter fineness of 15 µm and a remarkably low pressure drop, the LE5 impresses even in demanding applications. Despite its compact size, its flow-optimised design allows very high flow rates, e.g. 760 Nm³/h O₂ at 30 bar inlet pressure, with only 50 mbar pressure loss.

In addition, the WITT filter complies with the maximum velocities for oxygen prescribed by the European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA), the Asia Industrial Gases Association (AIGA) and the US Compressed Gas Association (CGA) – a crucial safety factor in oxygen lines. These harmonised standards, defined by the industrial gas producers, define globally applicable standards for the safe handling of oxygen.

Even in industrial applications with 6.0 grade purity gases, fine particles and even condensates can occur. Effective separation by the LE5 gas filter extends the service life and maintenance intervals of downstream components, and significantly reduces operating and downtime costs.

Easy to maintain thanks to clever design

Its compact design makes installation straightforward. The LE5 is designed so that filter elements can be changed while installed, and condensates can be easily removed via an integrated condensate drain. This significantly reduces downtime and saves time and money.

Suitable for oxygen – can be used for many technical gases

The LE5 is available in brass or stainless steel housings, each with a bronze filter insert. It can be used for numerous technical gases, including oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, argon, helium, compressed air, CO₂, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and others. The maximum operating pressure is 16–40 bar, depending on the type of gas. In addition to 2" female threads, flange connections are also available on request.

Perfect in combination with dome pressure regulators

The LE5 reaches its full potential when combined with a WITT 757LE/S dome pressure regulator set. The gas filter provides optimum protection for the regulator against contamination, ensuring maximum control stability and a long, trouble-free service life.

Tested safety

Each LE5 is carefully checked before delivery. The filter has a CE mark in accordance with the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and is designed for O₂ in accordance with EIGA 13/20, CGA G 4.4 and AIGA 021/20 Oxygen Pipeline and Piping Systems.
