Steelfort story continues

General Engineering

The Steelfort story began almost 70 years ago and with the dedication of management and staff. The company creates masterpieces for a huge cross section of New Zealand industry.

The renowned lawn and garden care products of LawnMaster rotary & reel mowers, chippers & edgers, Castle multipurpose heat exchange products and Steelfort Stainless benches, process vessels and plumbing products.
The firm’s commercial products division uses sophisticated machinery and experienced people to produce one-off and production run components in almost any metal. Whether it is a stainless steel facade for architectural effect, an aluminium component for an OEM or a powder coated mild steel domestic fixture…“if you can sketch it, we will build it”.
The combined fabrication and heat exchanger departments within Steelfort employ a diverse range of engineering, design and trade skills. They take the designer’s concept through the computer aided drafting phase to the drawings for estimation.
Once signed and accepted, the project is sent for programming before computer controlled machines cut, punch and fold to micrometer accuracy. At this point the skilled trade staff take over and work their magic, welding and polishing to give the product its true shape.
The final phase is the quality control check where each product is measured and compared to the client’s documentation and visually scrutinised for any blemishes or imperfections. Once the product has been cleared, it is bubble wrapped and crated for dispatch.
Steelfort has the facilities, equipment and skilled staff to provide quality products to both local and international markets. The firm is proud to be the sole New Zealand manufacturer of Rotary Lawn Mowers and a strong supporter of the Buy New Zealand campaign.
