element14 sponsors electronics contest to improve the future of the planet

General

element14, in collaboration with Maker Faire Rome, is sponsoring the FAE Technology design contest, “My Maker PCBA: Your Electronics For A Better Planet.” Makers from around the world are invited to participate and seize the opportunity to harness the potential of electronic technology in creating a sustainable future. The contest is now open and will accept submissions until 15th September 2023.

FAE Technology, a benefit company specialising in embedded electronics, strongly supports the interconnection between technology and sustainability as we strive toward a future where electronics is an indispensable tool in enabling concrete solutions to the challenges of our time. Within this framework, the “My Maker PCBA: Your Electronics For A Better Planet” contest was born, with a specific focus on projects centred around environmental sustainability.

The contest embraces a wide range of concepts and applications related to environmental sustainability. Key areas of interest include Agritech, Circular Economy, Smart Cities, Mobility, Electrification, and more. Makers who have developed electronic projects complete with schematics, a bill of materials, and Gerber construction files may possess precisely what this contest is seeking.

Participating in the contest offers a chance to win remarkable prizes. An Evaluation Committee will assess and reward the top three projects based on their merit and ingenuity. FAE Technology will then collaborate with the winners to produce a limited number of prototypes (ranging from 1 to 10) of electronic boards, based on the complexity of each project presented. The winners will be offered a unique opportunity to present their projects at Maker Faire Rome – The European Edition, with a dedicated space within the FAE Technology area.

"We are thrilled to partner with FAE Technology and Maker Faire Rome to support this contest, which aims to harness the potential of electronic technology in creating a sustainable future," said Martina Lucchese, Regional Sales Manager of element14 Italy. " With element14 actively engaged in CSR initiatives and dedicated to shaping a better tomorrow, this collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission."
