SMC to showcase its leading range for the industry at this year’s Foodtech Packtech (FTPT) New Zealand

Food & Beverage

Once again demonstrating its commitment to the food and packaging industries in New Zealand, SMC will be showcasing its comprehensive range of product designed with the industry in mind.

For the past 20 years, FTPT has led the way as New Zealand’s largest food manufacturing, packaging and processing technology trade show. This free to attend event brings industry professionals and decision makers together providing a forum for education, discussion and the sharing of knowledge and expertise, critical in the growth and  sustainability of the industry.

With the opportunity to exhibit only coming around every two years, SMC will once again use this as an opportunity to connect its expert team directly with the 4,500+ visitors and customers at this leading show, which provides the perfect platform to introduce its latest technologies and newest developments for the food manufacturing and packaging technologies industries.

James McKew, Sales and Marketing Director from SMC Australia | New Zealand says that this fast-growing sector is vital to their company. “SMC has made a name for itself by listening to our customers’ needs and investing heavily in R&D to ensure that we constantly innovate to meet these ever-changing requirements”.

SMC launched a campaign in January of this year entitled ‘More Green in 2018’; this theme has set the tone for the with the company promoting its energy saving range and educating customers on the benefits of implementing rigorous energy saving methods around the country.

“Solutions such as our Automatic Leak Detection System (ALDS), speed controllers, digital flow switches, vacuum ejectors and much more will be on show. Our team has invested a lot of time with our clients figuring out the best ways to save on the use of compressed air and mapping out an energy saving journey for the customer to assist them in getting to their ultimate energy saving goal.  We have seen great benefit from this thus far” James continues.

In its efforts to raise awareness on the real benefits of energy saving and its translation in Dollars, James says that while most businesses don’t realise it, they waste around 20% of the air that they use. “Customers tend to think that implementing energy saving and cost saving measures requires a big investment, but we have spent this year showing customers that even small modifications can lead to great savings!”

“We manufacture with energy savings in mind. It’s our mandate at SMC and this should be the case for our customers too. Here, we look to reduce your carbon footprint, protect the environment, help to gain a competitive advantage and of course, reduce costs” he says.

SMC will also be using FTPT to showcase its Industry 4.0 solutions with James saying: “We have a clear strategy and the technology to help you implement Industry 4.0 solutions. We also have the training systems to develop the skills of your team to ensure they are able to optimise productivity and maintenance scheduling.” SMC will be presenting on Industry 4.0, a practical approach on 20 September 2018 at 10:00 at the FTPT Business Growth Hub Seminar Room.
