SouthMACH 2011: manufacturing innovation and success

OVER the past five years SouthMACH has been the centre stage for engineering and manufacturing innovation in the South Island. Since the show’s inauguration in 2005, it has quickly become one of New Zealand’s leading engineering machinery and technology events, with more than 100 exhibitors and more than 3000 trade-only visitors participating in the two day showcase. Each year visitors return to keep abreast of industry trends and technology, source new equipment, services and technology, and to increase their productivity.
Held at the CBS Canterbury Arena in Christchurch on the 11th and 12th of May, SouthMACH will once again deliver on quality and value. Well respected international and national suppliers will showcase their most up-to-date machinery, technology components, materials and services to a captivated audience of engineering and manufacturing professionals.
Long standing exhibitor, Chris Whittington from Camplex NZ Ltd, reflects on his three seasons exhibiting at SouthMACH: “Each year SouthMACH delivers a great venue, a great exhibition and it is always superbly organised by Hayleymedia. Our continued investment in this show is a direct reflection of the quality of the event and the value we receive as an exhibitor. The 2009 event was the best yet and we are looking forward to what Hayleymedia will bring to the mix next year.”
SouthMACH is highly regarded for focusing attention on new products and emerging technologies. Attendees use SouthMACH as a forum to test the market, update themselves on what is available and to view and try new products and services. Competition is fierce to win the coveted ‘new products and services award’ which is voted for by trade-only visitors. The award encourages innovation as exhibitors coincide their product launches with the show.
SouthMACH is timely as the economy begins to stand on its feet once again.
“In a recovering economy more importance is placed on face-to-face discussions and hands-on demonstrations when companies are making large capital expenditures,” says exhibition director Rachel Hobbs. “Business owners and managers who are serious about keeping up-to-date with industry developments will attend SouthMACH to get ideas from highly skilled manufacturing professionals to maintain and improve their competitive advantage.”
