NZ manufacturer releases TReX PLC transceiver for control and automation

Automation

Wireless Technologies, based in Christchurch, has just released a PLC Transceiver for factory control and automation across a site. As an installation engineer you will be familiar with the need for long cable runs required for a control system across a site so that’s where the integrated PLC with radio transceiver speeds up the installation and saves money.

Wireless Technologies designs and assembles this product in Christchurch. They have been exporting their TReX data radio for a number of years and have hundreds of units in service, mostly into Europe. It is already installed in a variety of markets such as POS retailing, health (paging, Nurse Call), fire panel monitoring and even pest control.

Shannon Reardon, co-owner of Wireless Technologies, states “Over the years we have developed many control and radio systems. There has been a constant challenge of connecting remote equipment, configuring and diagnosing problems on site. Our TReX PLC provides not only the answers to these problems, but frees up cabinet space. It always seems to be the case that you're under time pressure to get systems back up and running after changes - our gear, even after being wired, can be swapped out without even needing a screwdriver".
