Bonfiglioli Agitator solution sets new standards In The Biogas Sector

Motors & Drives

Bonfiglioli, is setting new standards in the Australian biogas sector, with its innovative waste management solution – a slow-rotating paddle agitator, which ensures optimal mixing of digestates in anaerobic digesters.

Pointing to Australia’s Bioenergy Roadmap, which reported that the biogas sector has the potential to create an extra $10 billion in GDP and almost 30,000 new jobs by the 2030s, while also tackling a significant percentage of landfill waste, Martin Broglia, MD of Bonfiglioli Australia and New Zealand says that “this agitator solution will take us further towards a greener and more efficient future.”

The new paddle agitator is powered by the 300M Planetary series gearbox from Bonfiglioli’s portfolio, which offers exceptional peak load capacity and mechanical performance. With high torque capabilities up to 2,000,000 Nm, and a specialised torque arm design, the agitator is ideal for use in the harsh working conditions typical of the waste management sector. In addition, it offers easy installation, an explosion proof design and shrink disc output.

“With our large local stockholding and extensive local assembly and support capabilities, Bonfiglioli is well-positioned to support the development of the biogas sector,” concludes Martin.
