Ethernet Multiprotocol Now Also with CC-Link

Automation

Turck is extending the multiprotocol capabilities of its TBEN-S and TBEN-L block I/O modules with the addition of CC-Link IE Field Basic, thus combining all the world's most important Ethernet protocols in a single solution

Turck's multiprotocol Ethernet technology now also supports CC-Link IE Field Basic. The devices can now operate in networks with Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP or CC-Link IE Field Basic without the need for manual adaption. The extension can be activated through a simple firmware update and is initially available for the TBEN-S and TBEN-L IP67 block I/O series.

The update now also allows users who supply equipment into Asia to benefit from the flexibility of the Turck multiprotocol technology. In Japan in particular, but also in China, India, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, CC-Link has a market share of up to 40 percent. Globally active machine builders and OEMs no longer need to stock separate I/O modules for CC-Link, thus reducing the complexity of procurement and logistics and therefore also costs.
