igus adds new accessories for hoses to e-chain series E4Q

A new hose clamp and special side sections ensure quick and easy installation of corrugated tubes and hoses.

The safe and efficient guidance of hoses, corrugated tubes and cables in energy chains is a major challenge in various industrial applications. To counter this problem, igus now offers new accessories for their E4Q series: a special outer link for parallel guidance of hoses and a new hose clamp. These additions allow for simple and safe installation of corrugated tubes and hoses. The links with guide channel make it easier to retrofit PMA clips while the hose clamp makes sure that hoses are securely fastened.

The E4Q from igus is the chain of choice when it comes to safe cable guidance in unsupported and long travels. The bionically inspired design of the series saves weight while a crossbar with locking clips makes the tool-free installation of the energy supply as easy as winking. To allow for parallel guidance of PMA hoses and energy chains, igus has now added special outer links for hoses to the E4Q energy chain series. The links have already been tried and tested in the E4.1 standard series and can now also be used in the E4Q energy chains. They have a guide channel into which the PMA clips can be conveniently inserted. This ensures quick and easy installation of PMA corrugated tubes. Thanks to the different sizes from 17 to 48mm, the so-called TUB links can accommodate a wide range of hose diameters.

New clamps for hoses with a diameter of up to 60mm

In addition, igus presents the new SHM.60 hose clamp. Just like the PMA clip, it is attached to the outer link. With the clamp, you can guide corrugated tubes or hoses with a diameter of up to 60mm, e.g. for extraction systems in woodworking. The hoses can be easily fitted with a hook-and-loop strip or one to two cable tiewraps. "Our new hose clamp complements the different options of the E4Q series and ensures that all additional cables, tubes or hoses are perfectly supported and protected," explains Phillip Hagedorn, Product Manager e-chains at igus GmbH. "However, we are working on further developments for the E4Q, such as a new extension link that allows customers to extend an existing energy chain so as to guide a large number of cables in one chain."
