PSC Celebrates 30 Years of Powering a Sustainable World

PSC Consulting, a global electricity consulting firm founded in New Zealand in 1995, proudly celebrates its 30th anniversary this month. This milestone reflects three decades of innovation, resilience, and impact in the global energy sector.

Founded by a small group of engineers with a shared mission to support the reliability and advancement of power systems, PSC has evolved into a global organisation with teams across New Zealand, Australia, North America, Europe, and Asia. What began as a boutique consultancy in Aotearoa has become a trusted partner for utilities, grid operators, developers, and regulators navigating the energy transition.

"It is an honour to celebrate this milestone where it all began," Alex Boyd, PSC CEO, said. "We are especially grateful to our founders, whose vision and values remain at the heart of our business, and to our dedicated employees, clients, and partners who have joined us on this journey. Reaching 30 years in business is rare, and it speaks volumes about our ability to adapt, respond to industry challenges, and stay focused on delivering value."

As the energy industry undergoes rapid and complex change, PSC plays a central role in shaping the future of power systems. From integrating renewables and supporting grid decarbonisation to navigating market reform and digital transformation, PSC is supporting clients design and operate tomorrow's resilient, flexible, and sustainable electricity systems.

"Our mission is to empower people to transform the energy industry so that we can power a sustainable world together," Boyd added. "The next decade will be pivotal. Electricity will be the cornerstone of achieving net zero. Renewable energy will become the backbone of resilient power networks. But we must also address new challenges, from skills shortages to digital infrastructure."

PSC remains focused on building a stronger foundation for the future, strengthening internal operations, investing in talent, and deepening its support for clients across the entire energy value chain. Boyd concluded, "To our employees, your expertise and commitment drive everything we do. And to our clients and partners, we are truly grateful for your ongoing trust. The road ahead is filled with opportunity, and we are excited to walk it together."
