Probes measure pH in food processing

General

ISFET probes are virtually unbreakable, replacing fragile glass electrodes with sturdy silicon microchips that deliver stable readings in less than five seconds for most samples.  Using heat resistant materials, an improved reference design and ttem and a thermistor for Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC).

Argus meters are fully sealed and do not require battery replacement. The long life battery pack of the IP65-rated Argus is recharged via an adapter. The advanced Argus X incorporates a cradle that recharges the meters long life battery pack using a unique, inductive (contactless) method. Data is easily downloaded via an infrared (IR) link between the meter and cradle, then through the cradles RS232 port to computer or printer. emperature resistant KCl reference gel, these probes function reliably at high temperatures.

The clog-resistant ISFET sensor is easily cleaned using a simple toothbrush. The reference design incorporates a large surface area diaphragm of porous PTFE, significantly reducing junction contamination or clogging.

Sentron pH probes from ISFET, available from Instrumatics, are non-refillable, virtually maintenance free and can be stored dry. Since they are glass-free and virtually unbreakable, ISFET probes can be used safely in areas where broken glass is a hazard to the user, the sample or the environment. Patented ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) protection provides a built-in sensor safeguard that ensures proper functioning in even the harshest field, laboratory or industrial conditions.

Probe material is PEI and the electronics are safely embedded in the probe and powered by an external 5V supply. The user can choose between 0 to 5.000 mV output range making the device compatible with datalogging and PLC control systems or converting the ISFET signals to match glass pH electrode behavior. This gives the opportunity to use these non-glass pH probes with existing measurement equipment.

On-line probes are designed to prevent air-bubble issues, to operate between zero and 70 degrees Celsius and withstand up to 10 bars of static pressure.

Portable meters

Fully waterproof Argus portable meters are constructed to resist the harshest environments. Titan benchtop meters are suited to laboratory use as well as remote-site measurements. Both series offer the latest development in signal processing, sophisticated data-handling facilities and a wide variety of standard extras.  The use of ISFET technology allows the design of rugged, non-glass probes, incorporating the ISFET pH sensor, a reference system and a thermistor for Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC).
